"MR1" - Major histocompatibility complex class I-related gene protein in Homo sapiens
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

MR1Major histocompatibility complex class I-related gene protein; Antigen-presenting molecule specialized in presenting microbial vitamin B metabolites. Involved in the development and expansion of a small population of T-cells expressing an invariant T-cell receptor alpha chain called mucosal-associated invariant T- cells (MAIT). MAIT lymphocytes are preferentially located in the gut lamina propria and therefore may be involved in monitoring commensal flora or serve as a distress signal. Expression and MAIT cell recognition seem to be ligand-dependent; C1-set domain containing (341 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
B2M
Beta-2-microglobulin; Component of the class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC). Involved in the presentation of peptide antigens to the immune system. Exogenously applied M.tuberculosis EsxA or EsxA-EsxB (or EsxA expressed in host) binds B2M and decreases its export to the cell surface (total protein levels do not change), probably leading to defects in class I antigen presentation; Belongs to the beta-2-microglobulin family (119 aa)

  0.983
HLA-C
HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, Cw-7 alpha chain; Involved in the presentation of foreign antigens to the immune system; Belongs to the MHC class I family (366 aa)

0.778
HLA-E
HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, alpha chain E; Preferably binds to a peptide derived from the signal sequence of most HLA-A, -B, -C and -G molecules; Belongs to the MHC class I family (358 aa)

0.667
HLA-DRA
HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DR alpha chain; Binds peptides derived from antigens that access the endocytic route of antigen presenting cells (APC) and presents them on the cell surface for recognition by the CD4 T-cells. The peptide binding cleft accommodates peptides of 10-30 residues. The peptides presented by MHC class II molecules are generated mostly by degradation of proteins that access the endocytic route, where they are processed by lysosomal proteases and other hydrolases. Exogenous antigens that have been endocytosed by the APC are thus readily available for pre [...] (254 aa)

  0.655
HLA-DMA
HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DM alpha chain; Plays a critical role in catalyzing the release of class II-associated invariant chain peptide (CLIP) from newly synthesized MHC class II molecules and freeing the peptide binding site for acquisition of antigenic peptides. In B-cells, the interaction between HLA-DM and MHC class II molecules is regulated by HLA-DO (261 aa)

  0.627
HLA-DOA
HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DO alpha chain; Important modulator in the HLA class II restricted antigen presentation pathway by interaction with the HLA-DM molecule in B-cells. Modifies peptide exchange activity of HLA-DM; C1-set domain containing (250 aa)

  0.596
HLA-F
HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, alpha chain F; Involved in the presentation of foreign antigens to the immune system; C1-set domain containing (442 aa)

0.593
SLC46A2
Thymic stromal cotransporter homolog; May act as a transporter; Belongs to the major facilitator superfamily. SLC46A family (475 aa)

  0.573
HLA-B
HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, B-7 alpha chain; Involved in the presentation of foreign antigens to the immune system; C1-set domain containing (362 aa)

0.571
HLA-G
HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, alpha chain G; Involved in the presentation of foreign antigens to the immune system. Plays a role in maternal tolerance of the fetus by mediating protection from the deleterious effects of natural killer cells, cytotoxic T-lymphocytes, macrophages and mononuclear cells; Belongs to the MHC class I family (338 aa)
