"ANG" - Angiogenin in Homo sapiens
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

ANGAngiogenin; Binds to actin on the surface of endothelial cells; once bound, angiogenin is endocytosed and translocated to the nucleus. Stimulates ribosomal RNA synthesis including that containing the initiation site sequences of 45S rRNA. Cleaves tRNA within anticodon loops to produce tRNA-derived stress-induced fragments (tiRNAs) which inhibit protein synthesis and triggers the assembly of stress granules (SGs). Angiogenin induces vascularization of normal and malignant tissues. Angiogenic activity is regulated by interaction with RNH1 in vivo; Ribonuclease A family (147 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
RNH1
Ribonuclease inhibitor; Ribonuclease inhibitor which inhibits RNASE1, RNASE2 and ANG. May play a role in redox homeostasis (461 aa)

  0.994
ENSG00000258818
Ribonuclease 4; This RNase has marked specificity towards the 3’ side of uridine nucleotides; Ribonuclease A family (147 aa)

0.845
PAH
Phenylalanine-4-hydroxylase; Phenylalanine hydroxylase (452 aa)

  0.801
RNASE8
Ribonuclease 8; Has a low ribonuclease activity (154 aa)

  0.750
RNASE2
Non-secretory ribonuclease; This is a non-secretory ribonuclease. It is a pyrimidine specific nuclease with a slight preference for U. Cytotoxin and helminthotoxin. Selectively chemotactic for dendritic cells. Possesses a wide variety of biological activities (161 aa)

  0.748
ZNF699
Zinc finger protein 699; May be involved in transcriptional regulation; Zinc fingers C2H2-type (642 aa)

  0.739
VEGFA
Vascular endothelial growth factor A; Growth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. Induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels. Binds to the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin. NRP1/Neuropilin-1 binds isoforms VEGF-165 and VEGF-145. Isoform VEGF165B binds to KDR but does not activate downstream signaling pathways, does not activate angiogenesis and inhibits tumor growth. Binding to NRP1 receptor initiates a signaling pathway needed fo [...] (412 aa)

  0.732
RNASE3
Eosinophil cationic protein; Cytotoxin and helminthotoxin with low-efficiency ribonuclease activity. Possesses a wide variety of biological activities. Exhibits antibacterial activity, including cytoplasmic membrane depolarization of preferentially Gram-negative, but also Gram-positive strains. Promotes E.coli outer membrane detachment, alteration of the overall cell shape and partial loss of cell content (160 aa)

  0.713
FGF2
Fibroblast growth factor 2; Plays an important role in the regulation of cell survival, cell division, angiogenesis, cell differentiation and cell migration. Functions as potent mitogen in vitro. Can induce angiogenesis; Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family (288 aa)

  0.669
RNASET2
Ribonuclease T2; Has ribonuclease activity, with higher activity at acidic pH. Probably is involved in lysosomal degradation of ribosomal RNA (By similarity). Probably plays a role in cellular RNA catabolism; Belongs to the RNase T2 family (256 aa)
