"SYTL2" - Synaptotagmin-like protein 2 in Homo sapiens
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

SYTL2Synaptotagmin-like protein 2; Isoform 1 acts as a RAB27A effector protein and plays a role in cytotoxic granule exocytosis in lymphocytes. It is required for cytotoxic granule docking at the immunologic synapse. Isoform 4 binds phosphatidylserine (PS) and phosphatidylinositol- 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) and promotes the recruitment of glucagon- containing granules to the cell membrane in pancreatic alpha cells. Binding to PS is inhibited by Ca(2+) while binding to PIP2 is Ca(2+) insensitive; Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunits (935 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
RAB27A
Ras-related protein Rab-27A; Plays a role in cytotoxic granule exocytosis in lymphocytes. Required for both granule maturation and granule docking and priming at the immunologic synapse; RAB, member RAS oncogene GTPases (221 aa)

  0.968
RAB27B
Ras-related protein Rab-27B; May be involved in targeting uroplakins to urothelial apical membranes; RAB, member RAS oncogene GTPases (218 aa)

  0.838
MLPH
Melanophilin; Rab effector protein involved in melanosome transport. Serves as link between melanosome-bound RAB27A and the motor protein MYO5A (600 aa)

  0.761
RAP2B
Ras-related protein Rap-2b; Small GTP-binding protein which cycles between a GDP- bound inactive and a GTP-bound active form. Involved in EGFR and CHRM3 signaling pathways through stimulation of PLCE1. May play a role in cytoskeletal rearrangements and regulate cell spreading through activation of the effector TNIK. May regulate membrane vesiculation in red blood cells; RAS type GTPase family (183 aa)

  0.649
ARF3
ADP-ribosylation factor 3; GTP-binding protein that functions as an allosteric activator of the cholera toxin catalytic subunit, an ADP- ribosyltransferase. Involved in protein trafficking; may modulate vesicle budding and uncoating within the Golgi apparatus; Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Arf family (181 aa)

  0.646
CHML
Rab proteins geranylgeranyltransferase component A 2; Substrate-binding subunit (component A) of the Rab geranylgeranyltransferase (GGTase) complex. Binds unprenylated Rab proteins and presents the substrate peptide to the catalytic component B. The component A is thought to be regenerated by transferring its prenylated Rab back to the donor membrane. Less effective than CHM in supporting prenylation of Rab3 family (656 aa)

  0.630
MYRIP
Rab effector MyRIP; Rab effector protein involved in melanosome transport. Serves as link between melanosome-bound RAB27A and the motor proteins MYO5A and MYO7A. May link RAB27A-containing vesicles to actin filaments. Functions as a protein kinase A-anchoring protein (AKAP). May act as a scaffolding protein that links PKA to components of the exocytosis machinery, thus facilitating exocytosis, including insulin release (By similarity) (859 aa)

  0.602
UNC13D
Protein unc-13 homolog D; Plays a role in cytotoxic granule exocytosis in lymphocytes. Required for both granule maturation and granule docking and priming at the immunologic synapse. Regulates assembly of recycling and late endosomal structures, leading to the formation of an endosomal exocytic compartment that fuses with perforin-containing granules at the immunologic synapse and licences them for exocytosis. Regulates Ca(2+)-dependent secretory lysosome exocytosis in mast cells; UNC13 homologs (1090 aa)

  0.594
MYO5A
Unconventional myosin-Va; Processive actin-based motor that can move in large steps approximating the 36-nm pseudo-repeat of the actin filament. Involved in melanosome transport. Also mediates the transport of vesicles to the plasma membrane. May also be required for some polarization process involved in dendrite formation; Myosins, class V (1855 aa)

  0.562
DHX38
Pre-mRNA-splicing factor ATP-dependent RNA helicase PRP16; Probable ATP-binding RNA helicase involved in pre-mRNA splicing; Belongs to the DEAD box helicase family. DEAH subfamily. PRP16 sub-subfamily (1227 aa)

  0.561
