"OSBPL3" - Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 3 in Homo sapiens
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

OSBPL3Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 3; Phosphoinositide-binding protein which associates with both cell and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membranes. Can bind to the ER membrane protein VAPA and recruit VAPA to plasma membrane sites, thus linking these intracellular compartments. The ORP3-VAPA complex stimulates RRAS signaling which in turn attenuates integrin beta-1 (ITGB1) activation at the cell surface. With VAPA, may regulate ER morphology. Has a role in regulation of the actin cytoskeleton, cell polarity and cell adhesion. Binds to phosphoinositides with preference for PI(3,4)P2 [...] (887 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
VAPB
Vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein B/C; Participates in the endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response (UPR) by inducing ERN1/IRE1 activity. Involved in cellular calcium homeostasis regulation (243 aa)

  0.793
VAPA
Vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein A; VAMP associated protein A (294 aa)

  0.787
DFNB59
Pejvakin; Essential in the activity of auditory pathway neurons (352 aa)

  0.692
NFE2L3
Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 3; Activates erythroid-specific, globin gene expression; Basic leucine zipper proteins (694 aa)

  0.673
HNRNPA3
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3; Plays a role in cytoplasmic trafficking of RNA. Binds to the cis-acting response element, A2RE. May be involved in pre-mRNA splicing; RNA binding motif containing (378 aa)

  0.666
NFE2L2
Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2; Transcription activator that binds to antioxidant response (ARE) elements in the promoter regions of target genes. Important for the coordinated up-regulation of genes in response to oxidative stress. May be involved in the transcriptional activation of genes of the beta-globin cluster by mediating enhancer activity of hypersensitive site 2 of the beta-globin locus control region; Basic leucine zipper proteins (605 aa)

  0.628
RRAS
Ras-related protein R-Ras; Regulates the organization of the actin cytoskeleton. With OSPBL3, modulates integrin beta-1 (ITGB1) activity; Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Ras family (218 aa)

  0.612
DFNA5
Gasdermin-E; Plays a role in the TP53-regulated cellular response to DNA damage probably by cooperating with TP53 (496 aa)

  0.581
GOLGA4
Golgin subfamily A member 4; May play a role in delivery of transport vesicles containing GPI-linked proteins from the trans-Golgi network through its interaction with MACF1 (2243 aa)

  0.573
NT5C3A
Cytosolic 5’-nucleotidase 3A; Nucleotidase which shows specific activity towards cytidine monophosphate (CMP) and 7-methylguanosine monophosphate (m(7)GMP). CMP seems to be the preferred substrate; Belongs to the pyrimidine 5’-nucleotidase family (336 aa)
